Re: Ludum Dare 24!
To be honest, I am not sure if delphi is compiled or runs in a VM or what, but i know it isn't interpreted. The older versions of delphi were compiled, at least I think, until that new company took over and RADified it (embarcadero). Here is an interesting link, don't have much time to read through ...

Re: Ludum Dare 24!
Delphi? Pascal (newer versions)? COBOL (Still in use a lot), same with FORTRAN. Haskell? These all aren't very widely used (except for pascal and delphi), but they were at one point (except for Haskell, haven't heard much of that). And, many of them are still used today in business applications. I h...

Re: Ludum Dare 24!
Great point! I think I will stick to compiled languages for most things, and interpreted for web development (PHP, some python, and my own language I am making); there are some restrictions I don't like with python, like the fact that you can't have public, private, and protected members. I do know ...

Re: Ludum Dare 24!
Hi everyone!
It's good to know that pygame is actually good for something, I was under the impression that pygame/SDL wouldn't be good for a tilescrolling game (or is it still not good for that?)
Well, anyways, I need to work on my allegro, so no pygame for me right now...
Thanks!
Luke

Re: Ludum Dare 24!
Cool Game!! I used pygame over the summer, but stopped once I realized SDL wasn't good enough for my game, and python/pygame is just good at prototyping.
Does SDL make OpenGL calls? Or is it independent? I never quite researched that.
Thanks!

MIT's App Inventor
Hi everyone!
I am taking a concurrent enrollment programming course this year, and to start it off, we are using MIT's App Inventor.
If you guys haven't heard of it, take a look. It is great for beginners. I may teach my dad how to use it.

Re: Intro to Security (PHP)
I don't remember where I visited, but I do remember a very nice beach! It was a lot of fun!
If you have any questions about the tutorial, please let me know, and I would be happy to help anyone getting the code implemented.
What kind of things would you all like to see in other tutorials?
