Encrypting a password the same in C# and PHP?
I am trying to find a way to encrypt a password in both C# and PHP that produces the same results in each. That way players could log in to the game (created in Unity) and play or they could log in to a web page (created with PHP) and see their gear, achievements, etc. when they weren't playing. I w...

Re: Atavism MMORPG solution
Atavism is old... but it appears that someone has taken over and is reviving it. I've never messed with it, but it always looked interesting. It was originally created in Unity I believe... not sure if it's still in Unity or not *edit* If you are using Unity, and want a MMO engine, check out uMMORPG...

Re: TMMOKIT
I messed around with trying to re-create the TMMOKit in Unity recently - didn't get all that far before I put it aside (I'm not sure I have all the TMMOKit source code). But I think Unity would be a better engine than Hero. Unity's networking is better now than it used to be; I know it's not the gre...

Re: This guy is making TONS monthly from HTML5 games
Depending on how much time it required, $8K / month would be a nice income... but it if took every waking moment to make that, then it wouldn't be worth it. Money is only nice as long as you have enough to live on and spare time to enjoy any extra :) As for "selling your soul", I don't kno...

Kentucky Fried Chicken has a sense of humor
Here's a laugh for Friday afternoon. Kentucky Fried Chicken's Twitter account is followed by over 1 million people. But they follow exactly 11 people: the 5 Spice Girls and 6 guys named Herb

Re: Happy Birthday OldRod!
I had MoM back in the day, but I lost it, along with the MMO kit over the years... thought I had it backed up on a CD but the CD can't be read any more :( Shortly after MoM was released, I actually helped do some dev work on a dungeon/quest area. I never finished it (I know, you're shocked :)) but I...

RPG: Isometric vs. non-Isometric
I've been working on an RPG in Unity off and on for several months now (mostly off :(), but anyway, I've been playing some recent RPGs to get inspiration on how various game systems are handled, etc. What I'm finding is that all the popular RPGs that I'm playing all have an isometric fixed position ...
