Results Day
In the morning i shall be walking to my school to find out my GSCE results, that kinda determine whether i go to college or not, i'm kinda bricking it to be honest, would quite like to have done well but you never know i may have unwittingly written utter rubbish on my exam papers. I took 12 exams in all + 1 massive ICT course work thing... I Need at least 5 of them to be passes, i think. Who else is waiting for GCSE results, or am i alone on the forum?

When you say "whether you can go to college or not", you mean whether you can go to the college you want, right? All your hopes of going to college at all are not riding on one test, right?

Re: Results Day
Its not exactly one test, it was a load of exams that i had be working up to for that last two years and as GCSE stands for General Certificate of Secondary Education, it is the final part of my compulsory education, once i get the results in about an hour from this point, i will then be allowed to start more or less full time employment, join the armed forces, or as i want to do, go onto further education at the 6th form college and do my A-Levels. But since the the college has entry requirements, i have to achieve a minimum of 5 C grade GCSE's including Maths, English and a Science, and i am pretty nervous over how well i did, so basically if i have done badly then i am a bit screwed and i shall have to plan another route, if ya get me.

That is the education system page if you still don't get me, and incidentally the image adjacent the title "Curriculum" is in fact the actual college i am applying to go to.
. Such a small world...

But you could still go to a college, right? I am just trying to figure out if this is a Japan-style "you can blow your future at age 18" deals, which I did not think Britain had. In the US, if you blow your SAT or ACT test, you can still go to a community college for 2 years, get good grades and then transfer to almost any university for your degree. Heck, you can even just skip high school, get a GED diploma, and then do that here.

Well i am 16, the only other college i could go to is the technical college, or an apprenticeship, there are other options for sure but sixth form is the prime place to go and i really want to go to sixth form college to study computing amongst others. I'm going to pick them up now... a bit of cheer is that pass rate are at record levels again 69.1% of students gained between A* and C grades.

Nice! Congrats!
Also remember that the people market has changed very quickly over the past 10 years. Knowledge is worth more now that paper. Colleges have ruined themselves by promoting partying and "crazy college life". Jobs have picked up on the fall of education from college and gear more towards just hiring the best candidate regardless of what they have behind them.
I am not saying down go to college, by all means go, but while you are there get some education!
