Just an idea I've been throwing around for the past few months that I wanted some opinions on.
I've been a huge fan of sandbox based MMO's for the majority of my life, and they seem to be the only type of games I can get myself into. I've been looking for a, somewhat, easy to use software to help me create one.
Basic Ideas~
An open world with 4 different factions, each starting at different ends of a large world. There will be a very small amount of NPC's and no quests, or anything like it. When you spawn at one of the four different factions you will find yourself in a small outpost, with a few traders selling basic supplies such as hatchets, fishing poles, and other various materials.
The game will be Open PVP, although not between your own faction, and perma-death. After you spawn you will buy some supplies and talk to the guides in the outpost and set out to the open land around it. You will have a "Claim" marker that you will be able to set (with a maximum size limit, of course), and on which you will be able to build various houses and trading stands. As you progress through the game you will be able to journey back to the faction outpost at which you started and hire guards, and traders to tend to your bartering stands and patrolling your walls.
The game will feature a complete Skill Based system in which there are a few different ways to earn Skill Points. One Skill Point will be used to rank up any of the ingame skills that your character will have to choose from. The only way to earn Skill Points will be through doing various tasks related to your current Skills. Examples being; Hunting, Mining, Farming, Trading, etc. Each attempt at your skills will give you a certain amount of (Un-Named) xxxx Points that will eventually turn into a skill point at a certain number of xxxx points. There will be a character based Cap on Skill points, which at this point is undecided, but will give players the option to specialize in whatever skills they wish (but not all of the skills).
I have a much longer list of ideas and designs, but I wanted to see if anyone was interested in this type of game before I went all out and posted

Thanks for reading, and I appreciate the help ahead of time,
Noah.
