Re: My new laptop
Very nice! I have come to really like Asus. My Android tablet is Asus (Transformer), and my ultrabook is them, too (Zen Book Prime Touch). The ultrabook has some kind of polished metal as the shell, but it adds almost no weight, while me wife's Samsung Ativ Smart PC 700T convertible laptop gets never-ending scratches on it from who-knows-what lol. I believe they are now making the Nexus line for Google, or at least some of it. They build some quality stuff, congratz!

I guess money is not your problem
One question, why would you spent that amount of money in a laptop when you could spent the same on a better desktop imo?

Re: My new laptop
I already have a quad core desktop, 16 gig ram, nvidia 650ti, with dual 32" monitors, 4 terabytes worth of drive space.
I need a nice laptop for development away from the house. I am tired of this fad of smaller is better too. I have tried the netbooks and the 13" laptops and while the small size is easy to lug around I personally like the big screens. I need screen real estate!

Re: My new laptop
my daughter uses it for mine craft so I don't use it much anymore other than to make music videos. I also have a i5 vpro laptop but something is seriously wrong as it is slower than my i3 laptop that my gf now uses.

Very nice, I too like the bigger machines. The little tablet pc's and mini-laptops are useless to me for anything except the most basic tasks.

Re: My new laptop
I am the exact opposite on the laptops. I swore when I was buying my newer one I would not buy anything 4 pounds or over. But then, I use it heavily at the university, so I have to carry it on my back all day. My nearly 10 pound monster laptop was just out of the question lol. My Zenbook Prime Touch makes up for its 13" screen by being extremely high resolution, so I can still fit everything on it I can fit on my 17" screen older laptop. It is just a bit smaller

If i enter, as i will go to IT course, i will need to buy a laptop. And i was thinking that one 300$ laptop should be enough just for coding and some internet browsing right? For games i would use my desktop i5 that works very well for now.
What you guys think ? What specs would it be reasonable to Code + Internet browsing + some movies maybe
Sorry for the offtopic.
