Spam and PHPBB
So I am coming up to an important decision with the forums. The spam is not going through normal registration. Instead they are using some method to bypass registration which is absolutely nuts to me how they are doing it. Really makes no sense. I am still convinced it is real people but I cannot fathom why real people would post the wrong language spam.
Currently I cannot update our current version of PHPBB. It has been an issue for sometime. I will have to re-install which means losing some of the features and such. I cannot move to a new type of forums due to we would lose all of our old posts and that is not an option. I will have to decide what and how to do all this. Just not sure yet what I will do.

Which features would you loose if you install a new version?

I would say that's not much we would really miss. I would personally make a nice backup, and try to upgrade the soft.

Let's hope it works. Can't you ban posts containing the word lyon?

Other option is that new comers need to be moderated before their post is displayed?
