Hehe thats nice.
We got the Win7 Proffessional for free at our university through MSDNAA, you should check if you can get that too

MSDNAA is really great, gives access to about all microsoft software for free, even all expensive server software
I also got a Ultimate for free for beta testing Win7, me like

How'd you do that? We beta tested Win7 here in our office and we didn't get a free copy

I applied to become beta tester, and was accepted to testing the swedish translation. Just reported 3 or 4 translation errors and got a free ultimate copy of either x86 or x64
You can just not use the open beta, you need to get access to the beta on Microsoft Connect and get the "closed" beta from there

Are you running 64-bit? I reformatted to 64-bit, and between starting the reformat and finishing installing all of my extra software (3DS Max, Firefox, etc) it took roughly an hour, maybe a little over. It's insanely fast if you have a decent PC to run it on.

Hehe gotta love my SSD, the Win7 installation took 12 minutes from inserting the CD to being able to work with the computer

Hmm..weird. The person who told me it took a couple of hours has an amazing, 2 month old computer. I guess I just need to try it out and see how it goes.
