I appreciate the info

It looks like you can run one up to every 15 minutes on a free account, and more often with a premium account (aka paid account). That is how most of them seem to work, and that seems fair. Most hosts really get very little for their free hosting, and only hope it leads to paid hosting conversions.

so no chances to have a game for free then..

shi...
What's on the bad part for me, have a paid hosting, & it doesn't do crons.. My game is useless without them, so no idea what to do next.. Might as well quit

Just find a different host. It may mean taking a hit for anything you may have pre-paid on the old host's contract, but it beats giving up.

Anything beats giving up I mean, if you have the game all done, why would you leave it in the dust just to sit and rot away?

The problem is I don't have a credit card, so no ways for me to buy a host..

Is there any actual way to bypass crons? I mean to have the energy regenerating etc etc.. but on a host with no crons?

There's a way to simulate crons I think...

You really can't do any calculations for a game on the client-side with javascript because it is very simple to intercept the data and alter it to what you want. Perhaps there is something AJAX-wise that could trigger the action to occur, but then the problem would be ensuring that it runs. I am not sure if you can keep js elements running an active counter while changing between pages.
