Haven't used dreameweaver for a while now, but I quit using it because it messed up the code and generated non-valid HTML/CSS code.

When I started out I liked the visual development capabilities of Dreamweaver, but the more I got in to development the more I started disliking the code it made for me. Plus, you are still having to deal with the limitations of HTML/CSS even when building sites visually. One day if a
real drag and drop IDE was made, it would be big, but I don't think it will ever happen since it still has to be powered by HTML/CSS under the hood. Trying to build a page visually, but binded by the limitations of the underlying code just makes it confusing to me.
And the PHP and JS IDEs in Dreamweaver were very underwhelming to me. Very little code highlighting, not much autocomplete, and by default it doesn't even match auto-match brackets and parenthesis!

Dreamweaver and server side scripts don't like each other- the preview stuffs it up and just confuses you.
Pax.

yep, i have not once used the preview in Dreamweaver. All I do is code in it and even then it doesn't have any worth while features.

I'm a Coda convert myself, after years of using Dreamweaver as nothing more than a text-editor.
