You realize that Microsoft has released DX10 for XP? ;)
Not true! There was a third party company which tried to port it to XP, but they failed (http://alkyproject.blogspot.com/2008/01 ... hat-i.html).
DirectX 10 is still Vista + Win7 only.

Some more sources:
http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-US/ab ... x10-a.aspx
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en (Latest DX version for XP, 9.0c)

Also DX11 comes for Win7 & Vista soon ;)
Ahhh, didn't realize they closed the project down. I knew it wasn't an official Microsoft project, but never realized that they failed to come through with it. Last I knew it was in like early-testing stages.

Bah.

They are never going to do that because it would only give people less reasons to upgrade to vista...

It's by far one of the easiest programs I have ever used, comparable to RPG Maker. Of course because it's so easy to use doing complex things isn't usually easy. I think there was scripting support in it, never saw it though.

What version did you run it with?

I am even running it on my netbook with a Atom 1.6Ghz CPU, singel core, and integrated graphics, and it runs faster than xp and vista :P
Altho it recentrly starting showing BSoD's from time to time, but probably just some beta driver not fully functional, after all it is a beta ;)
