If you use a major distro of Linux like open suse, Fedora, Ubuntu. Then lamp will most likely work. Now if your using one of them random distro's with like 1 update and whatnot. Then no maybe not. But then I ask why are you using a distro with no updates and no Linux standardization.

What if he was running a small linux dist on a router and wanted to code php on that? :geek:

I said CODE php, write the code, not run it on the router, he might be uploading it to another server and run it there or edit it remotly :P

Uh so your telling me somebody would remote to his router to write php? Well then all he needs is a router with a text editor.

Ye...don't know why, but THEN he prob would use some weird dist without a (good)text editor :P

Then he really shouldn't be trying to code php on a router then should he :). I am unsure why you would even want to code on a router.
