Undiscovered Online [now merged with OuterNet]

Have a project in the works but not much media? How about an idea you are turning into a project? Maybe a game design document you want to start with. This is the place.

Here is a shot of an image I been working on for the logo of the forum (coming soon) and possibly maybe the box cover art. I don't know, just playing around with it right now.

Also an image of Earth, updated with textures, and the phase gate linked and working between both worlds I have shown up to this point.

Built and textured ALL 16 worlds. Now I have to go in and finish building the environment. (Adding trees, bushes, walk paths, etc.) Then script 2 worlds. (One snowing and one raining).

Just an update on where we are at this point. :)

I have named each world (NOT the starting worlds) world1, world2, world3, etc until they can be named. I am starting with World1 and working up to World10. In 2 hrs, I have got this far in building the environment on World1. This includes the walking paths for the entire world, and the few trees with shadows, along with the spawning point in World1.

Here is a teaser to World1, as it is right now. (Notice that the shadows are on the trees, as well as below them. This was created using the blob-shadow prefab that comes with the standard assets).

I am starting the worlds from scratch, from what I have learned now, and also to clean up everything from before. Removing scripts that aren't being used, prefabs, etc.

Alot has been done with UO, but as we get closer to getting the networking side of things, it has become overwhelming to do. So until we get all of this in place, UO has been put on the back burner for now. Seriously need to learn more about the monetary system, health/mana system, inventory system, server side, etc. There is a lot that is involved with making an MMORPG and attempting to do it without prior knowledge was to much for a beginner in 3D. Advise, if people don't know how to do the above first, it will be to overwhelming and I encourage everyone to research that. Since we are using Unity as the game engine, I will have each part in its own project until everything is golden.

Until then:

Myself and another have decided to start a new project doing an FPS single player, paranormal game. (To get an idea: resident evil meets silent hill, kinda paranormal) The details on it haven't been decided. Name of the game is yet to be determined...those who wish to jump aboard, we will need help with the 3d modeling part of it, so PM me and as soon as I can get more details of what we need, we will be more then happy to share concept art to get these models built. I will post a new topic in recruitment as soon as I have more details...
