What kind of idiot buys games?

I suppose the kind of idiot that resides here. Everyone in the is forum(at least until that comment) is a indie hobbyiest or developer. We strive to one day make a game to sell to help fund future games and to be able to do for a living what we love. An attitude like that doesn't make sense whatsoever. I hope that you are the only one I know that feels that way otherwise we are all doomed. I hope there are still people with pride and honor enough to not cheat the system at every turn and will allow small time developers like us to achieve our goals. Unless I read your post wrong. BUT this will not turn into a pirating thread.

Sony does have some very strong first-party franchises. Two big ones not on this list are Resistance and Little Big Planet (presumably a pretty old list, which means the TBA are likely all canceled). But we owners would hope that they didn't buy this expensive gaming rig just for Sony's games. Sony sat on a throne made of third-party exclusives in the PS2 days, but rising current-gen development costs mean that third-party companies just cannot develop a game for the system with much fewer sales.

although i pirate alot of games, for example i torrented L4D1 just to see why everyone was raving about it, but now i own it cause i liked it and any way i buy alot of games! i mean ive got hundreds of games, and its just the fact that i like to buy the game and play it properly rather than torrent it. Also i torrented Tropico 3 the other day to see why its on steam for £29.99 , n i still don't have a clue why its so expensive, but i would of happily paid £9.99 for it! And you can't easily pirate for the ps3 anyhoo...

I guess what im trying to say is that pirating really is fine just aslong as i go and buy what i really want, n if i have got the money there is really no excuse for not buying what i think is worth it .

Some of those games are not exclusive, if they are for compuyter as well (not including emulators) then I wouldnt count them as exclusive since I dont need a 360 to play it.

But the important thing is that they are not on PS3, even if they do come out on PC. I can't find the statistics at the moment, but I read about a year after the release of the PS3 that only a relatively small portion on current-gen console owners have high-powered gaming PCs capable of playing an XBox 360 title.

I want the PS3 to succeed, because I enjoyed the PS2 days, and I paid a pretty penny for my PS3 a couple of years ago. However, the loss of basically all third-party exclusive franchises really signifies a loss of trust from the developers in the system.

Can't give out my PSN, friends list is full >.> But, I see what you are saying about 360. I have never been a fan of the titles released on 360 other than Left For Dead, I had it for PC and I got tired of it fast so that wasn't a reason to own a 360.. the only other reason to have it is cause some of my RL friends have it so I could play with them too.

I want to see all of the Consoles succeed personally, I know how difficult it is to make some things like that and what not, I have respect for them all.

What strikes me as odd is how the 360 has become a haven for Japanese import titles here in the States. In Japan, they are almost all released for the PS3 since the Sony leads Microsoft something like 3 to 1 there.

Isn't it strange... Somehow, I am guessing that to program freerealms and stuff, Sony are using a Microsoft licensed computer... Which I guess is funny due to the fact that Sony are getting income thanks to microsoft and they are both competitors xD
