Honestly, I love most Japanese food. From sushi to tonkatsu to simple everyday meals, I love it. This was one of the first things I had tried that I absolutely did not like.

Ramen noodles == Fucking win I don't think there is anything that tastes better than a bowl of plain Ramen noodles.

Japanese food is totally different than Chinese in pretty much every way. And screw those "Japanese Steak-house" places. They are alright, but definitely not real Japanese food. I think those things started out in CA.
If you can find an authentic Japanese restaurant, I highly suggest it!

Actually fish fillets are much more wasteful than sushi. Most commercial sushi places cryogenically freeze left-over fish, and almost every bit is used in something or another, except for small parts of the face.
But its not for everyone. Just realize, though, that the most popular sushi rolls in the US are all cooked. These would be California Rolls, crunchy shrimp rolls, eel rolls (very good; served with a special barbecue sauce), and Japanese vegetable rolls. My fiancee loves sushi, but won't eat raw fish. I, on the other hand, love it

Fish eggs can be one type of sushi, so you are not entirely wrong. I don't personally dig the fish egg sushi myself
