that would be a big.....game......and a very very very big map...... i wonder if researchers would ever begin to use games like that for battle test/research

MAG has already a succesful test 128 players. it seems they are gonna reach 256 players. this game is gonna be so friggin epic!!

I can see why a console game can achieve high # of players. Generally most PC fps games. Are hosted off of home lines. Home lines cannot handle that much traffic as a server. Just pure and simple fact it eats up far to much bandwidth. So I think it will be safe to assume that MAG will probably be hosted on there servers. If you play on a dedi cod4 server with at least an 8mbit pipe. Which is somewhat expensive. You can get 64 people with no lag. Probably get even more if you were to use the sdk and get around the 64 person barrier. And believe me cod4 with 64 people is just PURE FUN. But yeah normally on a home line that's not dedicated you want roughly 8mbit for 16 players to have a good experience.
