Its not a scam. Its the privacy protection on the domain. Squatters like to protect themselves so if you go through the domain company they charge you to send the info through.

Its not worth it though, they are going to want atleast 1k for that domain.

Ye I don't think the domain company owns the domain, altho they take care of it for another customer.
