Critique please.

Well, I'm at near completion of the programming end and have started some designing. I would like some critique on the main page, I made everything myself, but I'm not sure if it's original enough.

Also tell me if you guys find the images take too long to load.

Very nice! Only critique I could offer would be that the text in the two lower boxes ("Update" and "Activity") are a bit hard to read the with dark background. If the text was brought up a bit in hue I think it would really help out its readability. Other than that, looking very good!

I like the gold/yellow against the bluey/topaz background, really makes it stand out.
