ubuntu lamp server

anyone build a ubuntu lamp server? I cant get mine to see the internet. I have a linksyswtr54g ver2 wirless router into an Actiontec gt701wg Qwest dsl modem. I can see the server in the L.A.N. but thats all. How does the port forwarding thing work? I have searched the internet and youtube and cant get it going.

Open up the ubuntu version of cmd and find your internal ip address, make a note of this.
OPen firefox and go to this number 192.168.1.1
Login is probably User:admin pass:admin.
Find the port forwarding panel.
It will be a http port forward, and make port 80 direct to your internal ip address.
