As most of us know, the bug-fixing reply time varies quite a lot here.

Sometimes, replies are posted instantly, at other times, it takes a few days to reply. For our newer members, a quick-reply is essential!

I mean, think back to when you joined, didn't you feel a bit anxious to see who had replied back? Anxious to see if they had replied at all? To see if it was taken seriously? ( Probably not , or so you say!)

For them, because they are new, they feel insecure and need confirmation that their messages have been read: they need to see responses. Fast.

I propose, that after reading a bug-help request, reply to the message with a "Wait, I'm onto it!" message. This will help notify other members that someone is already onto it, and to solve other requests first and come back later if it hasn't been fixed.

When you've done that, edit the message to avoid double posting while separating the "Wait, I'm onto it!" message with a delineator and having the reply appended below.

Hopefully this will help get help where it's needed most.

pax.

I like this idea. I think that might help to keep some people posting frequently.
