Shades Of Gray

Shades Of Gray is a horror/survival game being developed by my little group of indies called Inspired Icon. The idea was made by Adam Kalie, senior developer at Inspired Icon on August 20th 2009. He started the project alone, in the Source game engine. then we started from scratch on 2/9/2011 using the Unity game engine. The game is made in a Unity modded Javascript(also known as Unityscript)
Currently the game has only two developers: Myself and the other programmer. and a soon to be programmer.
The game is set in a psychological/horror/survival setting. the game is going to be both challenging as well as scary. we were very inspired by a game called amnesia:The Dark descent. the game will work on your nerves, what we really are aiming for is for the player to dread the darkness, and light as well, hate corners and opening doors.
Were currently not sure if there will be any type of weapon in the game. because of the story plot(which most of it is currently not being released).
right now were filling in holes in the storyline, some flowchart work. also while were making the story line and the not hard work were having another member of the team learn Unity so we can have 3 programmers working on it.
If anybody is interested in joining we could use one more programmer, and a lead modeler that can do characters. currently im acting as the modeler but my work with characters really isn't the best. once again, if your interested in the project, throw me a PM and we'll talk!

i may have failed to mention that this game is not, and will not be multi-player. single player only.
in about a month we should probably have a screen or two too look at

I wish i had screens :p
lack of a modeler has slowed us down a bit. RL has been sucking away my time on the game. but i am starting to get back into it.
me and my fellow programmer are going to start working on the AI script while we find/i learn how to be a good modeler.
hopefully in like two weeks we'll have a screen or two.

Don't get discouraged! Any game takes time to make, and even without a modeler you can get work done. Just use placeholder models if you need to, and download them online. Just keep a spreadsheet with what placeholder model is filling in for what production model so you can just search'n'replace the model names in your code or resource files when you do get a modeler. You could basically get about 90% of the coding work done that way, and the last 10% would just be production model-specific coding.

This is exactly what I am doing. Using placeholders until ships and player character are finished. Very great idea Jack.
