Re: away
Weird stuff. That sounds exactly like what my day would have been like at the telecom company I used to work for (I was the semi-programmer/administrator for our collections auto-dialer, which we were always replacing, and made massive reports all the time, too lol). And I lived in Chattanooga until just 2 years ago...

wow that is weird. When I was in Chattanooga I worked for Convergys for a bit.
Now I am in Mobile, al however. We have a few call centers around here. West, NCO, Sears, ect...
I actually run several dialers for several projects. Avaya, Artiva, Facs, ect... I build all the strategies and reporting around it then also supervise the group that runs the dialers. Fun Job.
I LOVE chattie. My favorite town. The walking bridge is so much fun. Aquarium is one of the best I have seen. I lived in the GrandView for a bit and got kicked out for too many parties

the Tech support side or the DirectTV side? I worked on the DirectTV side. I was pretty worthless back then though. It was around 02 or 03 i think. I will have to find out. I quit 3 months before the DirectTV side shut down.
I lived on Signal MTN for a bit, my parents also owned a house on Sand Mountain. I worked at Modern industries in Tiftonia then.
Wow friggn small world!

Re: away
I worked there before DirectTV opened up there, and worked on the AT&T international billing project (I can't believe I forgot what it was called. I used to wake up in cold sweats yelling the project name in the middle of the night!). I was still there when they opened, and even when they put up the Convergys/Berlin wall that separated the DirectTV people from us, because too many of us were quitting after seeing the balloons, prizes and generally happy people in the DirectTV project. I was probably gone for about 6 months before DirectTV closed. I may be getting mixed up on what years those were. Those were some crazy times back then lol.

So crazy! yeah I remember all the kewl stuff we use to win from for selling HBO, Showtime, Stars, ect...

We used to get so sad hearing you guys cheer over there, because our project was 24/7 back-to-back terrible calls.
As far as us working there at the same time, I would probably have been pretty hard to miss. While that was a long time ago and it would be a long shot if you remember, I was the 6'3" guy with raver clothes and shoulder-length blackish-brown hair with blue/green streaks in the front. Yeah, I was kind of a goober back then. I would ask what you looked like, but those were some crazy times and I hardly even remember working there except for long, generalized memories haha.

Only place I really went to was Velocity, but it started being raided by the police within about 30 minutes of opening every night after a year or two. Then Vick (the owner) had a brilliant idea to start opening it at 3am to try to get less police notice. Yeah...that doesn't make the place seem out of the ordinary in Chattanooga lol
