I originally ran across it when the mobile sdk was in 1.3 and i found it to be a buggy piece of annoyance and not a viable alternative due to the frustrations i had with getting the tutorial programs to work, now it has matured into something a lot more viable with 1.6. My main difficulty is getting everything to work under virtual mac so as iphone apps can be built since it still relies on having the IOS sdk and the android sdk installed to compile the code.

It`s cool, but it`s yet another abstraction on top of the already existing abstractions. If you do decide to program for mobile devices, you could as easily look into the code from jquery mobile or Sencha touch. Where the latter has my preference. I worked with that one before, so that`s pretty much the only reason.
We built our whole AJAX interface on our .NET framework with Ext JS, so i know a bit about it. On a side note, both frameworks should/could and are working on iPhone and Android. Whereas these 2 kernels are the most used mobile OS`es anyway. It also means you use javascript as your interface language, so you can use native server language, instead of an abstracted layer for your logic. the only downside to this is you still need to create your own iOS or android application around it. Which, if you know how, takes a day or 2. The good side on the other hand is, it also runs as a website, so you can visit it in your browser. So even if you don`t build a wrapper app for it, it would still work in both browsers.
Anyway, i like the technology, but it`s yet another abstraction away from the source, hence more room for errors as well as gaining less experience doing it yourself.
