Advertising other game dev-related forums is not against the forum rules. Most of the ones who have been advertised to date on here have been general game dev related, whereas indie-resource is mostly PBBG-geared anyway.

If you want to restore the link, just go ahead and do it. Or if you still wan't to nix it, I can delete this thread for you.

yep no worries on linking another game dev site. Just remember running forums is not always what it is cracked up to be. I have barely been able to keep up with these or make new videos. People fight, spammers spam, whiners whine, and servers drop. Quite a bit of hassle. I only created these forums to support my videos and they have blossomed to a great community. I never want them to grow much bigger.

Yeah, once a forum community grows so large, you basically have to have paid staff to handle it, because a large forum (100+ posts an hour or so) will quickly implode on itself without constant staff attention. At that size you simply can't leave it up to volunteers who can't spend all day taking care of issues and helping people. And since making money to pay said staff off of a forum alone is pretty much next to impossible, huge sizes can often spell doom for a forum community.

well halls, my set of videos where supposed to come online, but i found some technical errors in them, and by that time the forum was already built.
now i have to re-do all my videos and then re-post them.

Sorry, didn't mean to give you the creeps haha! Don't get the wrong idea. For the most part, having too many visitors to your site is usually a great problem to have. Most online communities never take off because of the catch-22 in the beginning (people don't want to stay until there are more people), and it can be tooth-and-nail and tons of work to try to keep a small community growing. Having a flood of too many users is pretty rare.

Re: What halls said. Running communities sucks, tons of work little return. The only real benefit is saying "It's my community" and no one likes those people.
