New Novel Ideas

Hey there people!

After some consideration, I realized that Crying For War may not be the greatest idea for a book, as it definately does have some downsides to creating it. So I am now thinking more along the lines of a fantasy or science fiction novel for my new genre, and I was wondering this:

What is something you genuinely enjoy reading about that hasn't already been done? Now things like wizards I guess are Okay, but don't make them have wands and shout latin words to produce a spell ;) Pretty much, no major rip-offs, but recycling some ideas is acceptable. I normally wouldn't ask for help with this idea process, but I just have not been able to come up with anything at all, and I need some help moving forward!

Thanks all!

you should keep this under one topic.

A mystery about a group of adventurers hired to hunt down a Werewolf. For some reason the werewolf is always one step ahead of them. Killing people in towns a day before they get there.

Come to find out the werewolf is actually a member in the party muhahahah

I ran a D&D campaign like that once.

While it is not a major content idea, twists always get people's attention. Of course some people feel they are cliche and it can be hard to make sure it actually comes off witty and not just "trying too hard". For example, the hero is on a mission trying to stop some mysterious evil force by battling others, stopping plots, etc., but then they find out that they are the evil force, and everything they have already done, when seen through a different light, now appears evil.

Jack: very good point, I already have a plot twist idea thanks to you and halls!

Halls: Amazing idea, I am already figuring out how this is gonna work out :)

Also, halls, by the same topic, do you mean include this as part of the Crying for War topic?
