So wait, we are really
doing this? I saw it on some news site a while back and thought it was a joke. So...really...it isn't a joke? Because it isn't April 1st. And it isn't funny.
No, really...you can tell me if you are just kidding...

The human race.
EDIT: I just think this is heading in a very stupid direction. The simple little plastic ships and pegs game of Battleship has been turned into a multi-million dollar Hollywood blockbuster. Why? I understand the success of Transformers, but the Battleship boardgame is
not in that category lol! It seems Hasbro is wanting to make the transition from their one major action-oriented property, Transformers, into turning their board games into movies. What is next? Monopoly? Jenga? Pictunary?

Watched the hole trailer and I agree. The next is probably Monopoly.

I am still awaiting the Space Invaders movie to determine the low-tide mark of Hollywood lol. And yes, that is actually a thing and it will be coming out I believe next year. But this is preeetty close to it haha.

Wasn't "The last starfighter" the space invaders movie?
*Ooooh, holy cow wacking....*
And no ones mentioning Real Steel? The rock 'em sock 'em robots movie?
BTW, it's not impossible for such movies to deliver a moving and poignant sub theme. Even though the premise is ludicrous! Remember brokeback k'plunk?

Oh boy! A seven hour movie about a business tycoon who begins life as an excited young man buying up property left and right for the first hour then he develops it for the next hour and the last 5 he spends competing with his arch rival for every last dollar in the world. Sounds like blockbuster gold.
(this is just a joke referring to the post I made about Monopoly

)
Anyway... Am I the only one who doesn't understand what this movie has to do with the battleship board game other than them being on a battleship? I'm pretty sure that thing they found in the ocean wasn't in the board game I used to play

So if that is the case, then why name it battleship?

I think the alien things were the red flashing light in
Electronic Battleship. They just took a bit of creative liberty with it
And what if they made the Jenga movie where a city of sky-scrapers gets plagued by an odd alien force who decided to just eff with everyone by randomly pulling out support beams? Why can't I make millions of dollars for that idea? It is at least as good as the Battleship idea!!

Funny you mention Real Steel. I saw an ad on YouTube some others may have seen, too, that was basically telling you to ignore what critics were saying about it. I laughed so hard when I saw that lol.

Ah crap, one of those moments when you start to think, "I'll never be dumb enough, or is it smart enough?" In this case to imagine aliens fighting battleships and be able to pull it off.
