I have decided to smash the old site and use PHPBB Portal to extend the forums into an actual site.

I don't know this site but found it as an example

The portal allows us to have a main page that bases off the forums, blogs, posts, ect.. and ties it all together. We can post all resources and such in the forums and share them through the portal.

We can also show off the new games posted here and other things.

I will be doing this tomorrow so if you see anything down just check back. I will be backing up the entire site so no worries

Wow, very cool! Basic phpbb sites had their day, but this really does seem to be the future, and is likely more what people are expecting from gaming and development-related sites. Awesome!

EDIT: Oh, and can you make this a site-wide announcement? I think PHPBB has an option for this. As is, I don't know if everyone is going to see this announcement, and it likely is pretty important when people start showing up and seeing the site down!

Halls, how will that affect the way everything is at the moment? It is business as usual for those visiting the site with just a new look and interface that will occur?

The forums will not change at all

Business as usual. Only the main page will change.

You just install the Portal Mod... No coding is really needed:L

well I am doing more than that, I just updated the forums to latest version and redoing the anti bot measures as as special script has been written just for this site which is allowing them through. Time to flip the script

Updated the forums and fixed a ton of things. I have to redo the Blog section but have no fear all your blogs are there I just need to add it back.

Let me know if we are missing anything or if anything is broke.

got the front page working but currently a redirect and not setup the way we want yet...hard part is done though

I like it because it tells you unread topics, ect.. Next step is to find a team to do the newsletter in the forum then we make it show up on the main page as well as resources, and news...
