Raspberry Pi INCOMING!!!!

JUST ORDERED MY RASPBERRY PI MODEL B *_*

IM SO f'n HAPPY.

I have some questions, hope you guys can help me.

1 - Can i put linux on it? Like Ubuntu or any other, or backtrack
2 - How can i use Wifi on it ? My router is on my room, and my living room is like 9 miles from it..
3 - I ordered the board only, so i will buy a new SD Card, and then what?
4 - Can i make robots with it? thats one of the reasons i bought one.
5 - What is the main things people do with raspberry pi?
6 - What else can i do with it than programming in linux mainly..?

I think that's all.. so freaking happy, i hope the 800mhz cpu is enough.. since my phone has 600 and it sucks..

1. Raspberry pi has their own flavor of linux which works very well. It is much like ubuntu. You download from their site.
2. There is a wifi version so not sure which you got.
3. You need SD Card. I sprung for the mini touch screen, Mini keyboard with mouse, and few other things but they are not needed. I use my phone charger for power or my tablet charger.
4. You can do a TON of things with it. It has connections to attach arduino boards and custom stuff. You also can get a usb kit that you can build things that hook to the usb.
5. I loaded an AI on mine. I use it for my NodeJs server, and I installed MAME, SNES, NES, and Sega emulators on it and i can bring it anywhere and hook it to a TV and BAM got instant games.

OH yeah i forgot i will do a cloud server too

1. but that distro can i put like c++ compilers and stuff?
2 . i have the model b, it has ethernet but not sure if wifi
3. i have a wireless keyboard and mouse that connect with a usb stick, does it work? (its not mini.. its normal)
4. Arduino are that boards for motors and servos right? I might get one
5. Well.. it has a 800mhz processor how can it handle everything like that? Isnt that a bad thing?

Sorry to bring back such an old thread but one question for Halls, can you please link me to the raspberry pi with wifi? I do not think there is one, I believe you need to connect a dongle in order to get wifi on a raspberry pi, I may be wrong

i just meant you can order it with the Wifi usb ready to go

On a related subject, would this cable (link below) work if you plugged it into the RPi and then into an older HDTV (one with the 3 jacks but not an HDMI port)? Would it work, or is that cable only for Playstations?

Not sure but you can plug in a standard RCA to the yellow output and then to the yellow input into the TV and it will work.
