Question about Raspberry pi and SD Card HD

Hello guys, i got my raspberry pi running videos smoothly and like a boss. It has subtitles too and it's great.

Now i want to ask a question about the SD (raspberry pi Hard drive). When i mounted the img to the SD so it could become bootable, i used Win32DiskImager and the SD had 8gb capacity. After adding the Raspbian to it, the capacity was now 40mb free out of 50mb. I was like: WTF?

And i found out that the application actually builds some ghost partitions. The question is, what if i want to save something to the sd like a movie or so, how do i do it? I don't want to put in a USB device every time..

If it can't then why did i bought a 8gb SD?

hmm i have not tried to do that but no way the rasp pi stuff takes up 7.9 gigs. Something is up there. I will have to see what mine has left. What I do is I have a wifi usb stick. I can connect to the stick via wifi and load onto it without ever taking it out or touching the board.

Well the problem i think it's the boot maker, what software did you used to put the raspbian on your SD?
Also how much does that wifi usb costs? It works like a usb device but can be used without wires from a normal pc?
