Ghostlinger: Elusive Freedom

Have a project in the works but not much media? How about an idea you are turning into a project? Maybe a game design document you want to start with. This is the place.

Ghostlinger: Elusive Freedom

Post by vitinho444 »

GHOSTLINGER: ELUSIVE FREEDOM

Main Player:
2nd Lieutenant Ryan Dewitt (Code name: Ghost-1)

Dev Status (LAST UPDATED 13-07-2013)
GUI - 20% - The GUI in the beginning will be simple, but we are working on the new one right now.
AI - 10% - The AI is working but not fully stable.
In-game Missions - 5% - Missions are almost completed but not implemented in-game yet.
Storyline - 50% - The campaign story is almost completed.
Gameplay - 70% - The gameplay as it is now it pretty much finished. Needs some tweaks and anything that is missing will be added ASAP.
Multiplayer - 10% - I started the base before the single player project, but i never did MP before so i paused that until the single player is out.

Overall Project - 30% - The game is going well and smooth, what i can't do i improvise and so far it's working. I had some problems with the AI System so i had to do it from scratch and it has some bugs yet.

Story:
Ryan Dewitt was on a patrol mission on the Korean Demilitarized Zone, when all of a sudden his aircraft gets locked on by an Anti-Air Vehicle. His Aircraft gets shot down but he successfully ejects himself from the aircraft. After landing, he quickly notices that he’s on the other side of the North Korean border, a current enemy of the United States. The lieutenant Ryan Dewitt is alone on a journey to find a way out.

The game will be Singleplayer at start, but i will think on adding a Multiplayer mode in the end.

Re kick starter, some people check the 'number of projects backed' stat on your profile - if it's at zero, they wont contribute. Depends on how you feel on it but contributing a few low dollar backings might help.

Ahh, never thought about that. I'm not too involved in Kickstarter, but that makes a lot of sense!

And btw, the project sounds cool :)

Thanks ;), My problem for now, seems to place the weapons in a First person view. It looks very odd hehe, still on paper though.

Best thing I can suggest is to look at existing games and see how they did it. They have spent the many hours tweaking and experimenting, so why not take advantage of that? :)

If you are talking about where to actually place the arm(s) in a first-person perspective, that is really an aesthetic issue, and will just take a ton of tinkering with placement, movement, animation and textures. You can also try holding a gun-like object yourself and make mental notes of where you see it positioned and how you move it.
