2nd reply!
so whats happening with it now? you effectivly just leaving it to everyone else to work out for them selves and doing indevidual videos on how to expand it in different directions? or are you still going to be producing it as a proper game?

The thing that ive found awesome about this tutorial over others is that halls will teach other stuff like div tags and even devote a whole vid to it to explain it .. and like the crons .. etc .. the tut is awesome for those who are absolutely beginners (like me - or was) .. now developing and making mistakes, having to rewrite massive amounts of code because there was a better or more effective way of doing something .. or suddently, something that you started and been going with, doesnt actually fulfil what it was supposed to in the end .. and these vids also allow for that kind of learning .. especially making the source code available and not having to pause and play the vid to copy it .. nup .. great job halls. . hat off to ya..

thanks,
I make sure to announce in the video that sometimes the way i show is not the best way. But sometimes the best way is the hardest and most confusing and I set out these videos for extreme beginners. Its best to learn to crawl, then when you realize its just not fast enough, you have the foundation to learn to walk.

see in my opininon. slapping in the source code is not always a good idea.
when i was trying to make my social network website i watched the videos, listened to the talking, but used the source code and edited it as i needed to. thing was I didnt really learn much from it, because i wasnt writting it out myself there was no reason for the words to stick. so when it came to wanting to start this project (well looking for a decent tut on it) there were many elements that were simple but i still couldnt understand because of said reason, BUT it had all been covered in the social networking site.
im not saying source code is bad, but i dont think you should be quick to just copy and paste it in because your not proccessing every thing in your head properly. pause the video, do what the tutor does. it may take 3 times aslong. but atleast your learning it rather than seeing it. if something isnt working. then check against the source code. then learn WHERE it went wrong and WHY it went wrong.
I know i have learned probably 5 times asmuch this time around, which has given me the chance to expand past what halls is showing
anyways thats my view on it. im not saying its the same for everyone. just how i have experienced source code to be a bad thing.

see i learn from the source code more easily, the videos help too but i usually am able to figure out what things are and where they are in the code, thats how i learnt VB and HTML

everyones different though
