Resource section of the site

As per the off topic thread vitinho444 has offered to build us a custom resource section of the site. Something I have been wanting a while but way too busy to build.

Basically it will be a section for users to upload resources(graphics, models, music, art, videos, links, tutorials) and for everyone to be able to browse them and download what they need or follow a link to them.

This topic is for suggestions and comments.

I will start off with what all I want.

I want categories. 2d, 3d, music, ect...
Thumbnails to show so as to not have to download things to see them.
Tags to tag them with different names
place to upload the files, zips, ect.. but also a place to just post a link as some free assets cannot be hosted anywhere else.
user stats(uploads, downloads, +1 type system like you can thank someone)

the site mentioned tf3dm.com is a perfect example.

What i don't want. A bunch of ads or a Turbosquid like environment. This is free resources. We can talk later about people possibly selling stuff but no ads.

While I know the forum can easily fit this need, it would also be nice to also allow scripts to be uploaded as well. Perhaps we could encourage people who share code on the forums to also add it to the resources. That way we won't have to go Search spelunking every time we want to find something that we know is in here somewhere

I would add also a list of links to open source / free tools to produce those art. Like blender, gimp, paint.net and many others.

Yeah, the only problem here is that everything is a Resource, and i don't know yet where to include the Resources that create / edit other resources :P I'll find out.

I've began working on it.

I will put all the navigation menus and categories editable through the database as i can't remember all of them in one situation.

roger that, but i think i should add for resources too, since you can see if that resource is good quality or not. Also the users.
