Hey guys.

We're close to Xmas and i figured out something, I'm a programmer (not the best one, right halls? right alain? right everyone else?) but I know more than a hello world

Ok so as a programmer, what would be a good gift for a friend? (*cough* female *cough*).

I'm gonna be honest with you guys, i fell in love, won't get much in detail since it's personal, but her birthday is in March and i want to give her something special (with my programming skills).
She's into horror movies, so what was my first thought? Horro game  , but do you have any suggestions or cooler ideas?

Thanks a lot ;)

Wow, I never thought to make a gift for someone with programming.

I am not sure what the best thing to make for them would be, but I can definitely say to not tell them ahead of time. We all know how problems and set-backs and spring up during a project, and the last thing you want is a gift from the heart to turn into vaporware :P

Yap, i might have ruined that second part, i told her i wanted to make a game WITH her, since she loves horror so much, but i didn't mention that i was going to do a game FOR her. So it may not have been ruined that much :)

Yeah, i have 4 months, and i need to dedicate a lot of time to it. I made my first game (dont know how) in 1 month... so i wanted to have something ready by xmas time maybe.
It will be something simple.. something similar to slender perhaps, with a bit of local myths and good old fashion jump scares and little light :D

Btw, here's what i made for her yesterday (www.oryzhon.com/peluche). She liked it a lot. So i want to raise the stakes :)

:D Thanks. The 2 lists are the things she likes and things she doesn't like, if you didn't know.

Chrome was kind enough to translate it for me ;)

I once made a RPG level for a girl that ended in some corny sweet thing.

My only advice to you is to not get too sweet and cheesy. Women get smothered easily and always remember women want what they can't have. ALL OF THEM.

Hum, when you say too "sweet and cheesy" are you referring to the game or real life communication?

I think the page you made her expresses your feelings. As for the game, I would just tailor something to what she likes, but don't personalize it for her. Make it something anyone could play. I think that would be good for what Halls said. You don't want to just piledrive her with digital love notes and make things weird. I think it would be cool if you did make her a game, but I would think you should just make it a straight game along something she would like. Just knowing you made it for her would be pretty awesome for her!

Yeah, I was thinking doing that. A playable game for everyone who likes horror/scary games, but she will know it was for her.
