We have an available resource that could do some work for us that has expressed interest in taking over / continuing a Public Domain or MIT licensed game system. We will be paying this individual. FunMayhem.com will host the code.

If you have any suggestions as to a game, framework or utility that needs some love, please either note it here or to admin@funmayhem.com.

Thank you!
Greg

What kind of game? Web Based? Text Based? PBBG? ect..

I know quite a few PBBG that I have wanted to bring back to life that had some real potential.

I guess anything web based (PHP, JSP) were his credentials and/or desktop based (C++, C#, VB). If we know what we are up against I might be able to find people. I have like a student body available.

This is in response to a couple of emails.

In order to get some specific projects moving forward I have enlisted some help from a local university. Some of this work is paid and something we can add to the engine or have as a new product. Another comes from a programming class at the local university that will consist of projects / final exam projects to enhance 'something'. The difference is the work done towards class credit cannot be sold. That would be a conflict of interest. Rather if I can find a good open source package to manage and provide for free, this work would go to the community. My motivation would be to help the community and hopefully bring people to our NWE world along the way. So I do have a motive.

The professor is a colleague trying to create meaningful / fun things for students to work on. We can own the copyright but the work would be free to use under a license not yet known (GNU?). So NWE would not be a good candidate. Modules for NWE could be but we decided against it. They are not willing to start something from scratch.

I hate to waste this available and free resource (30 - 60 young minds per semester). I am approaching other departments to see if they would like to help as well. This was the idea around an open source graphics library.

I have about 2 weeks to put together my proposal. Please give your input.

I hope that helps everyone.
Thank you!
Greg
