You can now get the indie version of Unity 3D free. https://store.unity3d.com/shop/ It is free for personal and commercial use. I downloaded it and am working with it. It seems great so far but haven't gotten deep into it. What do you guys think of it now being free?

I think it was a good move by UT. More users, more popularity, and more sales. This year's Unity Awards competition had a lot of entries, next year will be chaotic!

When I open it it tells me to register and says I get a one time free 30 day trial. Am I missing something?

yes that's only for unity pro. Unity 3d regular version is free. No point in getting the free trial of pro. You will have to re-do everything if you decide not to buy. I am tempted to make a web browser game with unity. Either a RTS or a FPS.

My teacher actually told me about this a couple days ago, I was gonna post it up but didnt have a minute.

Unity seems to be a very nice engine, been messing with it and it is pretty awesome so far.

yeah i re-downloaded today. love the javascript scripting language.
