They actually do that often. They suspend your forum and RC credentials if you are inactive for a while. I can only figure they are hoping maybe 10% of those users will just figure they have to buy RC again.OldRod wrote:My thoughts exactly! Details, man, details! Re: Forsaken Sanctum- Truley The final chapter
You are right, this is one forum I do not have to worry about retaliation.
Firs toff let me say there are members of the RC forum that I do hold high respect for and this is not directed towards you.
I am not 100% on all this info, just what I seen:
Basically Knight of Dream city and Fasaria World creator build Fasaria World on 1.24 version of RC. RC updated to 1.25 which changed some things that affected scripting and a few other things. It caused 100+ scripts to no longer work without a complete re-write. Well as you know RC requires a update like ever month to keep people from pirating
. The developer asked for the old version and basically they said they couldn't help him.
He went to the community for help and support explaining that this could happen to anyone at any time and that it was unfair and basically they all bashed him calling him lazy and that he deserved what he got for using RC to try to make a professional game. He explained to them that he has sold 1,000+ subscriptions and that he just wanted to be able to bring those people the game he promised. The community basically said your game is crap and thats what you get. I was totally blown away at their responses.
Have you seen KODC or Fasaria? Very great work, amazing stuff that makes RC look damn good. Solstar should be helping him.
Then they deleted the thread!!!

Hearing this just makes me want to go back to that community even less now.
And I find it funny that a lot of those members called that guy lazy when he was the ones with two amazing games and many other members ask other people to do stuff for them most of the time.

Re: Forsaken Sanctum- Truley The final chapter
Halls, thats a bit ridiculous really.
Yoda asked for a old version which Dreamora and numerous others had tried to fix (you may have missed this part of their convo). After Dreamora offering his personal services to edit all the scripts for a small fee or trying to republish 1.24 Yoda said no, demanding that this should be free...Which is crazy.
1.25 was an upgrade to 1.24 and a large one. 1.3 is even bigger. There really is no point for Solstar to continue keeping older and older versions maintained not to mention fixing errors in 1.24 which where fixed in 1.25 just so Yoda can keep his scripts.
Not only that, but Yoda then insulted mulitple community members, SolStar its self, saying how "he is a serious developer" and that he has done the most with RC to date.
This is incorrect (Edited, due to what i wrote here did not come out how it sounded in my head.)
Dansken online was and is a more successful game, and its developers have had no issues in updating.
The only thing that puts a foul taste in my mouth is the level of unproffesionalism seen from a self entitled "serious developer" who has boasted about his commercial product.

I dont know who they are. But this Yoda guy shouldn't have to pay to fix what they screwed up. He should have all access to previous versions if he paid for it.

Re: Forsaken Sanctum- Truley The final chapter
we will not bring the argument here. I am only stating why I am leaving that community.
Mu biggest problem is yes they should let him have 1.24 if 1.25 is no longer compatible with his game. He shouldn't have to pay for it, it is apart of the initial price. Dreamora stated himself that when the update came out that they would allow people to have 1.24. Its all so twisted and messed up now. So many lies around the whole situation. You are correct i do not know the whole story so I will not argue about it.
I don't care what Yoda or dreamora said. i only care about support that Solstar gives, because of my own game. They are refusing to support eh update changes which scares me.
Its the same way they lie about giving source out. I bought it for the source and they won't give it to me yet it clearly states its apart of the package.
soo many of the members bashed his project to get on solstars good side. That was just wrong. If Yoda was getting out of hand then talk to Yoda. Do not bash his work.

They didnt screw anything up. Solstar released the new version of RC which fixed bugs that hes having issues with. Resulting in their cease to continue supporting his version. Due to him being not willing to update his scripts he demanded that they fix his version which suffered from errors that they fixed in a previous release.Last Known Hero wrote:I dont know who they are. SolStar shouldnt have to lose money and time to update the old version and rerelease it just so Yoda dosnt have to fix his scripts which can largely be easily converted.
