Trinity of ashes

Have a project in the works but not much media? How about an idea you are turning into a project? Maybe a game design document you want to start with. This is the place.

Trinity of Ashes has a lot of potential! It is making the game I'm developing look like crap!
Implementing AJAX scripts (from a design standpoint) is hard, I think. It looks like you did a really nice job.
I hope you find a really good Creative Writer and GL. :D

ty greed :)

implamenting AJAX is a bitch yes. but its all made easier with jQuery tbh. there is quite abit you can do with that, most of my AJAX is written with the jQuery library.

and i cant take all the credit for the game in all honesty. alot of the ideas have come from other games, primarily halls' forsaken sanctum. that was the game that really inspired me to turn ToA into what it is atm. but lets face it, where would the world be without insperation ;)

also dont knock your game, i have seen many games which are crud pull off a massive user count... so its not really how your game compares to others out there, its how well other people like it that really makes it or breaks it (y) keep at it :)

yes it looks very good. Nice use of the map BTW. You are one of the inspirations of Indie-Resource Gold being free. I love to see creative people take something and really make it shine like you have done. Nice work

Over a month and no update on this :o i am a very lazy person :s

well its probably because i have spent that month+ trying to get the shops and crafting how i think they fit nicely into the game..

well tonight i have finially finished all the basics of the shops and the crafting of items and pots. and its working out just right i think.(i am yet to sort upgrades out but that can be done later)

I want to say tyty to Jpoisson who helped me out with the basic materials, without him i would probably still be looking for someone to help me and still stuck where i was when i came to the crafting potion of the game.

anyways theres your update :)

i will upload the shop features of the game at somepoitn when i am not drained of all energy and brain power lol. and i can dump a shed load of materials into my inventory (y)

anyway i am going off to bed and watching silent hill 2

night xx

ok after much playing about to redo the map functionality, i have got it back to working form :)

feel free to craft all you like lol.

you have lots of materials to play with. and dispite it saying crafting and cooking takes 10 minutes.... it doesnt :p it only takes 10 seconds.

also your materials will never run out (y)

enjoy.

www.te-game.site40.net

btw you can access both admin and sable. but admin is the one with all the materials on... sable is open so you can buy n sell :)

Well its been a while since i have really posted anything on here, and made an update on my game.

so for those that may be interested i thought i would give a little update.

alot, yet so little has happened since my last post  so here goes.

i decided i was going to rebuild my main site which controls the account side of the game (reason i have this account site is for more games further down the line), which i wanted to be built around a phpbb forum. After spending some time building that, and learning a bit about how phpbb uses OOP, i decided that my game would benefit a complete rebuild.

So i put aside what i already had, and went back to square one.

The reasons behind my rebuild are thus:-

It would have been a nightmare to change all the mysql calls to mysqli class calls for a start. There were countless number of them floating about all the pages.
The game now feeds off user data such as timezone, dst, username colour etc from the phpbb database.
Also using the language settings from the phpbb database, i have now made the game possable to have a multi-lingual feature. This will work by selecting the right language file when a page is loaded depending on what language you have set on the account site, and providing the language pack accually exists. Otherwise it will default to english.
I have restructured some of the database so that i dont have to make multiple calls to gather the same information over and over.
I am now incorperating alot more JQuery into the pages to make the game 'flow' abit nicer. Such as when using potions the health/mana/stamina bars fill up infront of your eyes rather than the page refreshing and you having to select to see the list of potions again. the same goes for using buffs, the countdown stats without the need to refresh.
Some of the PSDs for images vanished, so now alot of them have been redone and they all now look the same in regards to image effects (glows and what not) to look more identical across the board. I have also made them sprites which i wanted to do to start with but in a way forgot to lol. The text buttons will also be language dependant aswell.

So as you can see... alot but yet so little has been done.

Along with the rebuild there have been some irl things going on which has haltered the progression, but has not stopped it.

I am hoping there will still be some interest out on the indie-resource field :p and i will try to keep this updated alot more now i am getting back into the swing of things.

If you want to see potion/buff function working, go to www.torni.netii.net and go to the inventory->potions. and use them. They will not dissapear, but please do not discard them!! lol.

I am currently working on the equipment page, and may upload that in the next couple of days lol.

I am debating whether to set up a twitter and/or myspace account for this soon for updates & interest, but as i have never used them, it might take me a little while to get them going :p

anyways. make some posts, tell me how much you love it etc etc :p i need to think about going into town to pay some bills and buy some stuff.

x <3
