Quick word, though: I think you need to be releasing these under a license. Even if it is a complete "you can sell it, make money off it, sell the code to someone else, sell documentation for it, create closed-source projects with it, etc." license, you would really need to state that (although almost everyone withholds rights on selling the unmodified source code to someone else). As of right now, it is technically in limbo. Here are some links to lists of licenses for you to maybe check out and see which one fits in with your basic goals of releasing these games' code:
opensource.org's list of licenses
wikipedia's list of open source licenses (the licenses themselves are mostly absent from the wikipedia entries, but if you follow the "References" links at the bottom of each entry, you can easily get to the full license texts)
Again, great job Halls! I think this will help the indie PBBG community more than we even can fathom right now. I just want to make sure you have your bases covered with what you want to do here
