indie-resource tourneys?
wouldn't it be fun? Maybe find a game with low specs(not too low) and maybe with a mac and linux client also(though not required) that we can all set up a game night with? We could have leaderboards and stuff. Even a game here on the site that people can play anytime and go for high score.
Maybe even a PHP game browser game that is quick action or contest like or even competitive, like a farming game where every month is a season and its contest every season to see who can produce the best crops?
Ideas welcome!

Sounds pretty fun.
I'm working on a game that (if it ever gets finished enough) will be for everyone here to play. Still have a looong ways off for that, though.

Re: indie-resource tourneys?
k let me lay out an idea...
A indie-resource farm game, purely browser based PHP and JS. Accounts tied to forum accounts.
Each month is a new season and everyone starts with same money, say $1000. Each month is a different type of season so players have to buy the right seeds, though non season plants are worth more but harder to grow. They also must buy land, different places work better for different plants, equipment, ect... we can add in farm animals too if we wanted.
The game ends at the end of the month. Everyone harvests their crops and we can have different awards for different things. Most money, biggest fruit, ect..
We can add tons more fun stuff but it would be a nice fun community game. Player trading, farm sabotage, random weather, ect...
I would head up the project and everyone can help. We could make it open source or even sell it to other communities for prizes for the community or something.
we could tie in a lot of things to the forums too
or make it on going game no resetting
We could have a game finished like this in a month or less.

Re: indie-resource tourneys?
while I am still up for a fast paced tourney game, I am also thinking a slow paced browser game would be fun too. Much like the farm game I mentioned. I am going to get started on this and if anyone has a better idea or thinks a farm one is stupid make it known quick
I miss the old sim farm days

I remember playing Sim Farm when it first came out. I was in the 10th grade I think. Good times.

Wow, I was 9 when sim city first was released. Which would have put me in 3rd or 4th grade.
