The 4th Kind

Post by SpiritWebb »

Alright, so I watched this movie last night (6-5-2010) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Though it wasn't what I was expecting based on the previews, but I must admit I did jump in a couple of places!

If this was all a Hollywood Hoax, they did really good with it. Really creepy in parts. However, if it wasn't and just can't find the information (which I am looking for), that's even more spooky.

Star rating: 4

Author note: I know that the if you search online it says that it was all a hoax, cause you cannot find information regarding the dr. However, it does state in the movie, names were changed or removed to protect the individuals. Also with that in mind, I did read an article that states (ufo research group) that they went to the Anchorage Daily to look it up and that whole section around that time is blank. So either it doesn't exist OR it was removed. I am torn on which direction to go... :?:

I liked the movie, too, although it was a hoax. The production company kind of loosened up on the story after it came to DVD, and I think they finally gave the actress name of the "real doctor" because there were some minor awards she had won. It was a very creepy movie, though. Some of the things you can make out through the video snow in the final scene are just disturbing.

I still stand by it was not a hoax. I experienced nearly the same thing (not so dramatic) when I was young and my mother researched much of this trying to find answers. I am trying to get her to find the old newspaper clippings. This was not in Alaska either. It was in Colorado, but IT DID happen, just not so Hollywood and dramatic.

They based a lot of the details on other experience reports they got from around the world, but the "real" video in the movie, and everything else about it was made up. If someone claimed their young child was taken by UFOs, the resulting court case would likely get national attention very quickly. Those videos also would have hit the internet in an instant because they show things that are both disturbing and not humanly possible. They would be the best evidence ever recorded of something super natural occurring.
