About the urban realms and forsaken tutes

Post by Callan S. »

I'm thinking maybe go through the graphics and for the download, open them in pain and scribble over them a bit, or replace them with a generic image. Also go through the text with a search and change the name where you can.

I'm just thinking some people don't think first, they take the code and graphics and just put it up verbatim. Weve already got once case of it. And if they didn't think in the first place, they will probably get stubborn about taking it down as well, cause their not thinking ahead. I don't think they'd try to be disruptive, but by not thinking ahead they are disruptive (much like someone fiddling with a CD or tape while driving can cause an accident, because they didn't think ahead). People just tend not to think and I'd hate to see the goodwill shown by halls with the tutes be spoiled because human nature of not thinking ahead much shows up and any more people post up the code and graphics verbatim. Atleast if the graphics are scribbed over, it helps avoid that issue. Though I grant people aught to take responsiblity, but it's a fact people are often clueless. Sometimes you got to heard them along with a shock prod! >:)

They could be darkened to the point of barely being able to be made out. And there should be some kind of batch image editor that could do it. I also agree, though. If the images shouldn't be used in a project, they probably should be altered, since some users do just want to put up the exact files so they can run their own game (they are probably not interested in game development and only wanting to run a game). However, still including them will let the users at least test with them.

i agree and it is a thin line on trying to be nice and leaving them in there and people taking advantage and using your graphics.
