3D Work
Hey all. I am making this post because I am looking for some freelance work, I am looking to do this for pretty cheap for IR members.
I can do characters although I don't want to advertise for that since they aren't easy, which makes them expensive.
I am looking to do hard surface objects for people, you can send me a message of all the objects you need modelled and I will send you a quote, which if a hard surface object, I will be charging as little as I can. I can do specular maps, color maps, normal maps, emissive maps, opacity maps, etc. Just ask for what you want.
I need money so I figured if i offer it at a very big discount for you guys that I might get a bit of business.
I take paypal as payment.
(Heres to hoping that someone needs work done)

Its a good idea but in practice it's very difficult. Not many people are willing to pay for art pieces.

I am not a US resident so I have to get a tax form and submit it to the government, then have to do a tax return form at the end of each year to recieve my money. I've tried it, and I have come to realize that it is useless for young people who are not US citizens.ZeroComp wrote:maybe submit your art to a site such as turbo squid or something like that? you can offer it up for money there
**EDIT*
Once I get the character fully finished in my Project Section 1, I will be selling it- model (3200 polygons), Diffuse, Bump, Specular Color, Specular Level (all 1024 x 1024), and rigged. I hope to only be selling it for $75 for all of that, but I don't want to sell it over turbosquid so I'd need to hear from PM's - wont be for a little while anyways.

Also, turbosquid has a very low rate of return. You are better off doing one-off exclusive rights work.
Re: 3D Work
You might want to check out http://3docean.net/ they can pay you through paypal on payouts over $50.

Turbosquid suffers from the same condition as the iPhone store: Sure it is popular, but there are just so many products on it that people almost have to be looking for your stuff specifically. Even if you are modeling a bowl of macaroni'n'cheese, there is a good chance someone already has a pack of macaroni'n'cheese bowl models up for $3.Noctrine wrote:Also, turbosquid has a very low rate of return. Re: 3D Work
Turbosquid offers me a higher rate of return comepaired to 3DOcean.
I get 50% royalty on Turbosquid, while I would get 40% on Ocean. Either one I have to get past $100 000 to get to 60%, then 3d ocean offers higher payback AFTER i sell one hundred thousand dollars worth. Either way, I would rather sell it as $50 over paypal rather than selling it as $50 then only getting $25 of it....
As a non-eclusive seller I will get %40 royalty on Turbosquid, and 3DOcean gives 25%, none of those numbers change, even if I sell $20 000 worth of models. They will stay at 40% or 25%.
Its a lose lose in reality...
