Pokémon Online

Have a project in the works but not much media? How about an idea you are turning into a project? Maybe a game design document you want to start with. This is the place.

FYI, game isn't dead.

Been incredibly busy with work and other stuff in life, my partner no longer on laptop, I have coded a bit but not a lot. Some nice stuff done but I've been doing smaller things like polishing stuff up and make the game play and feel better. Will be in active dev soon though (hopefully next week depending on shifts.)

Sorry for double post(although this forum is more relaxed in a good way :) )

After a little hiatus due to lack of motivation, partner not having a laptop and some other stuff (working wayyy to much lately) not a lot of work has been done. But I have got some motivation and been coding anyway and its what I have done, the new battle gui is now fully coded, attacking works (and much more effiecently the old serverside code for that was so wrong) you can also now change monsters with any in your party providing it has hp and automatically sends out the first monster that isn't fainted.
The battle log is 80% done, does everything so far except scroll, but as writing this I figued out and incredibly easy way of doing it based on my code (i made it nice and easy) so that should be able to scroll up and down.

Thats it for now, might look into wild battle tomorrow and exp.

Also the hp and levels and stuff aren't final, just numbers I entered into the database( remember everything is dynamic so I can edit something in the database and it shall be done in game :) )

WOW your graphics are awesome! I really adore the new GUI, so snazzy looking. This is just the type of game I know a lot of people have been yearning for. Should be extremely popular once released! :D I know I'll definitely be scrambling for an account.

Looking awesome! I guess the only thing I am worried about, however, is if it does get a big influx of players and causes a reaction from Nintendo. Gamefreaks is notoriously defensive of its Pokemon IP.

There is another poke'mon MMO in the same vein as this one, called Pokemon World Online. You might check them out because they could be competition. I think the website is http://pokemonworldonline.net/

A lot of their features are still incomplete. I had been following their development for some time now, just thought I'd point them out to you. They are probably the most accomplished Pokemon MMO so far.

There news sounds like they are basically going down from being mobbed by players (look at the news on main page). Maybe not a bad time for another game to jump in :)
