HELP!!

Post by Baseball435 »

hey everyone i need help really bad. I tried setting up my own web server on my computer using apache and i set a root password for it. Now when i go into phpmyadmin it gives me an error and says wrong username and password. I deleted apache but it still stays. Please help!!!

MySQL said: Documentation

#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)

phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.

THATS WHAT IT SAID

If you're referring to a WAMP server, the first thing you NEED to do is get Apache back. You need it or else the server won't work correctly or at all.
Also, did you set the password for root at localhost or 127.0.0.1?

What you need to do first is, get apache back, and then reset and turn off the root password you set and try to set it up again with the same or different password. If it's refusing to let you even into phpmyadmin after you reinstall apache, if you don't have anyhing important on your server such as any databases you'd like to keep, I'd suggest just uninstalling then reinstalling WAMP and setting it up again.

just need to change your password for phpmyadmin

http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=279644

If you have the command line (in which is start -> run -> type "cmd") and if you can type "mysqladmin" - and see a bunch of output text, you're good to go. Simply type this:

mysqladmin -u root password NEWPASSWORD

Just replace NEWPASSWORD with the password you want to use. You can also replace "root" to change that users' password, if it exists.
