What tech would work for me???

Post by rockinliam »

I had the idea for a game where you have a 2d multiplayer world where any body can build whatever they desire, like fortresses etc and they can build units and objects, but the thing is, is hat the world is filled with zombies, that are fairly benign during the day, but they turn at night and attack your defences. Obviously this is a very basic framework for a game, but what i would quiet like to get opinion on is what technology would be best? I think i would like it to be browser based, since i am stronger in php etc, but i am unsure. gimme a starting point!

I personally think you should go with a browser-based setup. That way anyone can play, without fear of what type of computer they have!! :) Just my opinion though...

It kind of sounds like some type of free-form tower-defense game. Flash can do tower-defense games really well!

The problem with flash is the although i have made plenty of little things, i have had no experience of networking or databases. So i will go away and do some research.
