May not want to dump the Wii just yet! I am still not convinced many games are going to be released for the Kinect and PS Move. Sales over this Christmas will probably be the deciding factor whether or not third-party developers get in on them. Current gen console games are just too expensive to develop to invest in a game that only has a potential pool of a million or so buyers. I know I am definitely waiting to see how the first few months play out before I invest in either the Kinect or PS Move.
yeah definitely. I see this going along ways. Watch some of the tech demo, check out Star Wars. Very kewl stuff and trust me the tech level of this is miles above move and Wii. I am amazed at how well it works. Me and my daughter were playing adventures, in the raft, and when she would fall down her character would fall down in the same figure and would offset the raft.
Very kewl stuff. We tried a movie last night. You just say "pause" and it pauses. It recognizes my face when I start the xbox up and auto signs me in.
It looks awesome but I have yet to try it. I most interested in the fighting games so far. I just want a good violent gladiator game and it will make the purchase worth it. The one they released for Wii was a crap kids game. Gladiator AD would have been amazing.
Tried it out, the casual games that my cousin had on it were lame. and I tried to see if the thing could motion track my kicks for a decent fighter and it didn't seem that way. Did a pretty good job of me doing the robot though :p
Most of the stuff on that list looks pretty lame, interested in steel battalion though. I think what would be most interesting though is a God Game like Black and White or something.
I have nearly every game. Some are lame but some are just friggn awesomely fun. Some track incredibly well, some not so well. All of the Ubisoft games track great. They invented the tech so they have more tech behind it than even microsoft. The Zen garden Thai Chi shows the real capability for a early stage. You do Thai chi and it is your entire body in game. Not a character.
If a few serious games come out for it it could be cool. However, I had the Playstation Eye, which is at least 50% of the same technology and it is a hard peripheral to make serious games for. You have no real 3D shooting capability, no capability to do complex movements like a traditional fighting game, probably not enough accuracy to make hair-line accurate soccer kicks, etc. I still have to give kudos to Microsoft for wanting to do something different, instead of just copying the Wii like the PS Move. PS Move is going to get burnt by the Wii since everyone who owns a Wii console has the motion controller, thus they are not having to support two different sets of players like the Xbox and PS3 will. I think that Microsoft realized this and decided to not go after Nintendo at their own game, and wanted to distinguish themselves. This is in contrast to the PS Move which will likely end up being "that Wii-clone that never got enough games". At least the XBox is offering a peripheral that really has no equal on another console since Sony has given up on the Eye (beyond its use in the Move setup).
