The thing is, if the stats are correct, that's alot of plays going on. I'd like to know how long it's been going for. Granted the layout is nice.
OMG! It's got the exact click and wait (and see other people) thing I talked about here!. I mean EXACTLY THE SAME! OMG!

I am going to seriously think about a chat box - I think it's a significant thing in how this game supports a population.
Indeed I'll go a bit off topic - I was thinking of writing some eliza style bots, to fill in for when there's only one player on. The bots would actually be a bit like quest giver NPC's in most games - they'd offer work for reward. I'd also have it that players can also do this, so if the chat develops a population, the bots shut down since the quest giving is already being handled by people.

Really in terms of repetitive tasks I'd more recommend turning over soil in your own RL back yard, or in a window box, and planting some seeds.
I do think it's basically distilled multi player games down to a formula that works. I'm just not sure it's a good idea to absorb alot of that formula...it's a bit like junk food.

A game like this ("No brains required!" - game's website) would be very susceptible to botting.

agreed,
Chat systems are always a big win. You often find people chatting more than actually playing but hey whatever brings the players.

Way back in the late ninties (I think) I remember someone refering to the mmorpg 'Anarchy online' as
This is the social player and this is what they come for. And heck, they are probably the very binding agent that holds together a game population (even though ironically they don't much care about playing the game)Chat, with monsters
