Getting a new desktop

Post by Sakar »

With the coming release of games like Crysis 2 and RAGE I've decided I need to upgrade my computer.

These are the specs for the new computer:
Case: Sentey Extreme Division GS-6400B
Motherboard: ASRock 890GX Extreme4 ATX AMD
Processor: AMD Phenom II 1100T 6-core 3.3GHz
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 460 756MB
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333MHz
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

It will have my two current harddrives (a 500GB, and a 1TB), as well as a 30GB SSD.

I think I'm set for a while :D

Haha yeah. I prefer to play my games at max settings in fullscreen, and my current computer barely meets requirements for most recent games.

And the great thing is this is actually pretty cheap to build.

Nice config.

I noticed you got 8GB of RAM.

From what I know, RAM doesn't actually improve gameplay that much. After a point, most OS's will actually start caching files on it and that leads the RAM activity to appear to be high.

Still, at the cheap costs these days, most people will just max it out.

pax.
