New Beavis and Butthead series

Post by Jackolantern »

While this is older news now, it was announced at Comic Con 2011 that Mike Judge is bringing Beavis and Butthead back to MTV. While I definitely understand if some don't like it, I grew up with this show, and the last season was actually quite funny (like the last episode where they called the school and said they were killed, and then ended up unknowingly going to their own memorial and laughing at people crying). They played a nearly 5 minute clip of new material at Comic Con, and the 15-year-old in me can't wait! :)

EDIT: Oh yeah, and they are going to be making fun of MTV reality TV instead of music videos in this iteration lol

That they are :) That gives them shows such as 16 & Pregnant, Teen Mom, Jersey Shore, etc. to make fun of :D

What most people will probably remember about B&B were the earlier seasons, which honestly, in retrospect, were not that funny. The only jokes were them saying things sucked, saying butthole, and laughing. The last season was pretty much more like this video: creative, witty and very funny :) One of my favorite episodes was when Beavis was trying to get a pack of Sour Cream and Salsa Pork Rinds out of a vending machine by a gas station restroom and gets his hand caught in it. Butthead goes to get help, but gets side-tracked and buys 20 packs of spoiled nachos from the convenient store for a dollar and goes home. The last scenes are him sitting on the couch at home eating nachos while Beavis still stuck in the vending machine later that night, and is frantically eating a roach-covered M&M out of the slot of the vending machine lol.

That's the way B&B is supposed to be taken. Mike Judge was also appalled by the way the two characters became idolized on MTV in the 90's, since he made the show for the purpose of laughing at them, not with them

Can't wait to see it! I have seen re-runs of the show and used to watch it all the time when I was a bit younger. :)

I remember watching Bevis and Butthead on Liquid Television which was were B&B got their start along with Aeon Flux and some others. Was such a kewl show.

People need to remember back then there was only the Simpsons as far as funny animated cartoons. It was different back then, was very funny. Watching it now is like looking at a swimsuit magazine from the 30's.
