Windows 7 phone..boooyah

Post by hallsofvallhalla »

Well I finally found a good deal...looks like I will be working on a phone app soon! I must say i tested a windows 7 phone and man it was so awesome. Was like fluid. Like it knew what i wanted. Loved it so much I payed extra to get one. $100 plus contract but hell it was worth it, bright screen, best touch tech and awesome feel to it. I was like wtf, this is MS?

I was really surprised, too. I don't know much about Android, but iPhone has kind of been the standard as far as speed goes for a while, and WP7 is definitely faster, has better touch support (particularly on a Super AMOLED screen if you have one), etc. I like it :)

I have an Android currently - I absolutely love it!

Heard bad reviews about the W7 phone when it came out, maybe they've improved it since then.

i read a ton on the Windows phone before I bought it and most of the bad reviews were said to be hype killers or people who were use to the standard iphone. WP7 done things a little differently and I don't think everyone was ready for it. I guess to each his own. I am not a fan of android but it doesn't mean it is not good.

I am just excited about being able to develop for it!

There's also a developing app that allows you to write the programs on your phone itself, I made a small program to gen a random number between 1 and 6 on it when we were stuck indoors over the weekend we used it to get pissed. Took me ages to write it though lol..

Also the developing programs from Microsoft are brilliant as well.

wow with the little screen and even smaller keyboard i can only imagine how hard that would be. Even with visual scripting.

It would be slow, but if all you have is your phone and time, why not? :)

Well i finally got my phone in and OMG it is so awesome! The touch screen is miles ahead of my old phones. I love the way the OS is setup. So far so good.

It is quite nice I think. One of the things I disliked about iPhone was that once you download an app, it is part of the main UI. Even though you can arrange them on the back page, I always hated that. My Papa John's ordering app would be on the same level as the latest game I play, or the app that is the gateway for all my homework. With WP7, all of your apps are stored in a menu hidden behind the main UI, and you can "promote" the apps you use the most to be a part of that main UI, which gives them live tiles that they can use to automatically keep you up to date. I love it!
