This community largely has its roots in tutorials, since I believe that was Halls' main reason for starting it, but that mentality of sharing with wanting nothing back in return has spread far beyond the original video tutorial series. We have members writing-up and even creating video tutorials to share their knowledge with others. Few if any questions go without any answers or input. Even if no one knows the answer, you can basically count on someone at least pointing them in the direction they can get their answer. We have very few if any problems between members, because there is a mutual respect here that is few-and-far-between in most other communities, particularly indie game forums (which for some reason are often hot-beds of elitism, newbie-hating, etc.). It is a sign of the maturity of everyone here that we have an open Recruitment forum and it is not a source of really any problems (members of other indie game forums will know how amazing this is). We also have, at least for me, just the right amount of activity. There is almost always something to respond to, but it doesn't get so busy that people come and go that you never get a chance to interact with.
We are seeing members' games grow and prosper now, and some complex games have come out of this community. I have no doubt we are going to keep seeing many more, from ideas turn into playable, popular games.
So thank you everyone for being a part of this community, and for making it so great! Whether you are creating tutorials, answering questions, or asking questions, you are an integral part of this community (we wouldn't be here if no one had any questions!). I would say we are the premier web RPG/PBBG community out there (I have yet to find another one as vibrant as ours with as many resources), and I hope we can make the following years on Indie-Resource just as great!
